1879-S $10 MS63 NGC. The 1879-S is common in grades up through MS62, but it is rare in MS63 and virtually unknown finer. NGC has graded just four pieces in MS63 with a single coin better: an MS64. The present coin is outstanding for the grade, showing tan-gold luster and bold definition of the devices. Neither side has singular abrasions of note. Census: 4 in 63, 1 finer (6/23).
