CHINA. Anhwei. 10 Cash, ND (1902-06). PCGS FINE-12 BN Secure Holder

CHINA. Anhwei. 10 Cash, ND (1902-06). PCGS FINE-12 BN Secure Holder.
cf.CL-AH.47; cf.CCC-66; W-34 (K-19)(Plate coin); cf.Duan-0623. EXCESSIVELY RARE and listed as UNIQUE by Woodward. Very small letters in "An-hwei" and missing beaded border around dragon. According to Woodward there are several varieties of this type which are principally distinguished by the number and arrangements of the clouds. Other differences include the length and shape of the dragons tail. Due to the fact that every example that Woodward was able to locate of this type with the very small letters and that all are in very poor condition he speculates that they are probably pattern only issues. Evidence of being double struck most prevalent on the reverse. Well worn as would be expected from the designated grade with attractive mottled cinnamon and mocha patina. Overall a pleasant example with a fabulous provenance. PCGS FINE-12 BN Secure Holder.
