Important German pocket watch with carillon striking mechanism, Kinzing Brothers Neuwied, ca. 1800: Ca. Ø57mm, ca. 130g, 18K gold, case number 15826, case, movement and dial signed Gebrüder Kinzing & Comp. Neuwied, magnificent and highly complicated verge movement, quarter repeater and carillon, original enamel dial, especially beautiful Breguet hands, in working order and in very good condition, probably original key. Peter Kinzing came from the Kinzing (Kintzing) family of watchmakers, who belonged to the Mennonite religious community in Neuwied. He was a court watchmaker of the Duke of Nassau and a royal French court watchmaker and mechanicus. The Kin(t)zing family achieved fame in Europe in the 18th century through their cooperation with the family of cabinetmakers around Abraham and David Roentgen. Important members of this family were Christian Kintzing (1707-1804) and his son Peter Kinzing (1745-1816). From 1770 on there was an intensive cooperation between the Kinzing watchmaker's workshop and the Roentgen cabinetmaker's workshop.

Ø57mm, ca. 130g, 18K Gold, Gehäusenummer 15826, Gehäuse, Werk und Zifferblatt signiert Gebrüder Kinzing & Comp. Neuwied, prächtiges und hochkompliziertes Spindelwerk mit Achtelrepetition und Carillon, originales Emaillezifferblatt, besonders schöne Breguet-Zeiger, funktionstüchtig und sehr gut erhalten, vermutlich originaler Schlüssel. Peter Kinzing entstammte der Uhrmacherfamilie Kinzing (Kintzing), die der Religionsgemeinschaft der Mennoniten in Neuwied angehörten. Er war herzoglich-nassauischer Hofuhrmacher und königlich französischer Hofuhrmacher und Mechanicus. Berühmtheit in Europa erlangte die Familie Kin(t)zing im 18. Jahrhundert durch die Zusammenarbeit mit der Kunstschreinerfamilie um Abraham und David Roentgen. Bedeutende Mitglieder dieser Familie waren Christian Kintzing (1707–1804) und sein Sohn Peter Kinzing (1745–1816). Ab 1770 intensive Zusammenarbeit der Uhrmacherwerkstatt Kinzing und der Schreinerwerkstatt Roentgen.
