ARTIST: ATELIER SEMORAD SIZE: 24 x 36 5/8 in./61 x 93 cm PRINTER: Schreier & Braune, Wien DESCRIPTION: These ladies may not be dressed for swimming, but they've come to check out the thermal pools in Baden anyhow—perhaps they're on the lookout for celebrities, who frequented the destination. Thermal Strandbad opened in 1926 with an area of 25,000 square meters (about 15.5 square miles), and in 1929, it boasted the largest man-made basin on the continent. Aquatic delights include two 50-meter swimming pools, two sulfur pools, a lazy river, several geysers, water slides, and a palm island; today, the park receives about 300,000 visitors per year.
