Vase; China, Cultural Revolution period, 1960s.... Lot 192

Vase; China, Cultural Revolution period, 1960s.
Porcelain.
Presents seal on the base.
Measurements: 62 x 25 cm.
Porcelain vase that presents a typology of refined and classic lines that widens towards the shoulders, with a flared conical neck in the upper area that finally ends in a thick lip. The ornamentation also stands out for its simplicity, resorting to synthetic motifs in red in the lip area and at the base. The central area is ornamented with a figurative scene representing the Chinese people from a completely idyllic perspective.
Through the new language of the Cultural Revolution, the aesthetics changed radically towards a synthetic and stylized figuration, of heroic and symbolic character, with rounded forms far removed from the "perverse" courtly refinement of previous periods. Thus, both in ceramics and in the rest of the arts we will see representations such as this vase, icons of the Chinese people in triumphant attitude.
