A RARE QIANJIN AND TIANQI LACQUER RUYI SCEPTRE 18th century Finely incised and painted in qiangjin and tianqi technique reserved on a rich red ground on the shaft head with a full-faced five-clawed dragon coiling around a flaming pearl amidst wispy clouds, the wide mid-section and end of the shaft decorated with panels of flowering branches, the narrow shaft shallowly incised with bats amidst clouds, all picked out in black, brown and green within incised gilt lines and on a gilt diaper ground. 42cm (16 1/2in) long.
