Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1809 NR-JF/JJ MS61 NGC, Nuevo Reino mint, KM66.1, Fr-60, Cal-1834. A fleeting second year issue with only six total examples certified across NGC and PCGS. The piece at hand is the highest-graded representative of this variety and the only one to receive a Mint State designation. Despite small areas of roughness and some weakness at the center of the flan, as often seen, the devices are fully defined and amplified by lemon-gold surfaces replete with whirling luster.
